A short Boston history lesson.

Our trip to Boston started out late, and with a few adventures. We were wheels on the ground at 11:15pm last night.

Fuzzy picture of flying into Boston.

Once we got our bags (we checked six and had one carry-on) we made our way to the rental car center by shuttle. Unfortunately, Crista and I were separated as I tried to return the luggage cart to the airport, but I was able to hop on the next one and we were soon reunited. We managed to fit all of our luggage in the rental car and made it to our hotel room by 1:30am. We did not get to sleep until about 2:30am. How good it was to rest!

Unfortunately, our early morning escapades affected our plans for the day today. We had purchased a "hop on/hop off" trolley tour ticket to get us to several sites we wanted to visit. Due to getting started a bit later and some technical difficulties we were only able to visit the Boston Tea Party site before coming back to the hotel so that William could take a nap.

Replica of one of the ships used in the Boston Tea Party. Smaller than I imagined!

We were given "secret identities" of actual attendees. The feather signified  our disguises.

Where the crew would have slept. I would not have fit in there! Sailors must have been short!

Replicas of the boxes of tea.

Captains quarters. Much larger, but still small. I had to bend over whilst I was below deck.

We understandably took a short nap as well. We were disappointed that we were not able to see a lot of Boston like we wanted to. We decided that we would just do the complete two hour trolley tour without getting off. That way we would see everything and get to go around downtown Boston. I was able to get a few pictures from the trolley.

While there is no recorded history of the Few family here specifically, I would imagine that they visited at one time or another, especially as they were involved in the Revolutionary War. I do have some anterior motives for starting here, however. Applause, the company that I work for, has headquarters located near Boston. We will be stopping for a visit on our way to Philadelphia tomorrow. I will also be meeting people I have "virtually" (working from home) worked with for almost the last 6 years. I am going to go get a better nights sleep tonight. Until tomorrow!
